Introduction
With a baby, your home can feel like a fragile place through the night. Especially when we moved our baby girl out of our room and into her own. We still had the middle of the night diaper changes and feeds. Each time I went into her I stumbled around trying to find her lamp. The lamps bright light could sometimes wake her up even more. But what if you could have more control during night time wake ups? In this hatch rest review, we’ll discuss the features that could really help you.
Hatch Rest Review Summary
Hatch Rest Night Light Review
What I Like
- Combination of the night light and sound machine.
- Adjustable from your smartphone.
- It has color and brightness options.
Hatch Rest Night Light Review
What I Don’t Like
- I liked the idea of a more compact light, but that’s not a dealbreaker.
- No battery operated option.
Overall, I love that it has so many features. Including a sound machine saves us from having to buy a separate machine for white noise. The colors are specifically tailored to create a restful environment, and it’s all adjustable from your phone.
I would like a small night light, but I wouldn’t be able to find one that includes all of these options. It would be easier to move around if it were battery operated, but that also saves me from having to worry about always having a supply of batteries.
Total PLS Score = 85 / 100
Features:
Score 23/25
Altogether, the features of this night light make it one functional little product.
Durability
Score 20/25
There are a few complaints of it being too delicate, but it doesn’t seem to be a widespread issue.
Value for Money
Score 23/25
Considering that it is also a sound machine, and a highly customizable light feature, the price is very reasonable.
Power Performance
Score 19/25
It doesn’t take batteries, but a few people believe that would be more useful than the plug-in feature, which a couple people said was too “touchy.”

Things to Consider Before Buying the Hatch Rest
A good night light is a necessity for your baby’s room. It can be hard to find the perfect night light, like one that won’t be too bright or too difficult to turn on in the middle of the night. Already in this Hatch Rest review, we have gone over a few of the features that make this a versatile product.
This seems to be perfect for new parents with babies, parents who are transitioning their babies to their own room, and any parent who wants to implement a sleep schedule for their toddlers. Keep in mind, however, that to really take advantage of all of the features offered by this product, you would need either an iPhone or an Android smartphone. Also, if you’re looking for a night light with a projection feature, the Hatch Rest does not offer ceiling projection. Instead, you always have the option of purchasing a night light, sound machine, and a ceiling projector separately.
Presenting the Hatch Rest
The Hatch Rest is a night light and sound machine designed to use different colors and sounds that promote healthy sleep. Rest was designed to be fully controlled from a smartphone app. what this app you can adjust hues, brightness, and sounds or music to find what really works for your child’s sleep pattern. after you discover what works best you can save these settings and use them every night.
Night light also includes a time-to-rise feature, which sets a specific color on the nightlight letting your toddler no when it’s time to wake up. ideally you would set this up so that the whole family would wake up together. it also includes a bedtime program which would turn on colors and music in the evenings signaling to your toddler that it’s time to get ready for bed.
In the case of my daughter, I had a sound machine that played white noise and it only had two settings for the volume. As far as a nightlight was concerned, I had a lamp in the corner of her room that was slightly dimmed because it was in her closet. The lamp was not meant to stay on all night, so I was in and out of her room to turn it on and off.
There are a few comparable options, but so far the Hatch Rest is at the top of my list. This is mainly because of the sleep design that fits into any modern baby nursery. For instance the Alexa Enabled Smart Sound Soother looks too much like an adult night light, and I want the one I purchase to fit in with the modern theme in E’s room. If you would prefer a night light that’s a little more “cartoony,” or follows another specific theme, you can find plenty other options on Amazon, but keep in mind that they may not carry the same features.
Features and Benefits
Light and Color
What’s going to a few specifics about the features offered by the night light, starting with the light. If you want to light your baby’s room with a white light, the night light shines a very soft white, one that’s not too harsh for you or your child. if you’re interested in colors there’s a wide variety, including a custom option allowing you to customize even the color that shines. There’s also a rainbow option which will cycle through each color of the rainbow in a soft manor allowing not only some entertainment, but also a soothing light show. A feature I appreciate especially, is the product’s ability to be left on all night.
Sounds and Music
Now on to the sound portion. there are 11 White Noise preset sounds. These include: rain, wind, water, ocean, dryer, and birds. While you aren’t able to play your own music through the sound machine, there are also three adorable lullabies included to soothe your child to sleep. I find that the lullabies are best suited for babies, while the white noise is best suited for toddlers and above. the paragraph
Presets and Programs
When you find a combination of Lights, colors, and sound, that work best for your baby or toddler you can save these as your very own presets. I’m not sure of the exact amount of presets that you can have, but it seems like you can have quite a few. I’ve also seen that you can set a specific program for waking up, bath time, and bedtime. I personally love this because when it comes to my own sound machine, I have to go through every night and pick the specific sounds that I want.
